In the
early morning hours (3:00 a.m.) of March 6, 2003 an F1
tornado struck Greenway Plants, Inc. owned by John and Vicki
Nelson is located in the White Plains community outside of
Anniston, AL. There was extensive damage to the
greenhouses but there were no injuries. Many of John
and Vicki's fellow nurserymen arrived to assist in whatever
way was needed. Some moved tender plant material to
another location and some started with the long cleanup.
John and Vicki are both past presidents of the
Alabama Nurserymen's Association. |
